Strategic Outreach Assistant Intern Job Description

Choose to DO, Inc. is a nonprofit founded March 8, 2016, that provides mental health resources to BIPOC teens in low income communities.

The Strategy Outreach Assistant assists with research, planning, and logistics tasks related to a variety of strategic projects and other cross organizational projects. This person will execute and track goals to optimize results that engage Choose to DO, Inc.’s community.


  • Coordinate timely goals for the development of program and fundraising and plans.
  • Help maintain and build company systems to manage programming and fundraising efforts.
  • Assist with research for strategic projects.
  • Help build processes.
  • Assisting in the formulation of administrative procedures, policies, and curriculum which directly affects the welfare of the community.
  • Assisting in the development of plans that will improve the quality of services that Choose to DO, Inc. provides to the community based on assessed needs.
  • Oversee and make recommendations to community resources to Choose to DO, Inc.’s population.
  • Support and manage Choose to DO, Inc. at scale to maximize effectiveness in driving awareness and fundraising.
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Assist with grant writing
  • Other duties as assigned


  • First year/second year student interested in the macro social work field is a plus but not required.
  • Multi – task, time management, and prioritizing are a must!
  • Flexible – able to shift gears quickly
  • Resourceful – able to figure things out on their own
  • Open minded and interested in learning. You like to grow personally and professionally and are interested in understanding why – not just handling tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, and written skills
  • Knowledge pertaining to research


  • Time Requirement: Hours: 10+ hours a week and work based on your availability.
  • Salary: Unpaid
  • Location: Remote and/or working in person in Houston, TX.
