Job Overview:
The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers for our various programs and events. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives, gain hands-on experience in volunteer coordination, and make a positive impact in the lives of underserved youth.
Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Recruitment:
- Utilize various recruitment methods, including volunteer recruitment websites, social media, and information tabling events, to attract volunteers.
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to create and disseminate engaging content promoting volunteer opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to identify specific needs for programs and events.
- Volunteer Onboarding:
- Assist in the development and implementation of volunteer onboarding processes.
- Collect and manage volunteer applications, ensuring all necessary information is obtained.
- Communicate with potential volunteers to provide information and answer inquiries.
- Event and Program Support:
- Collaborate with program leads to understand volunteer requirements for upcoming events and programs.
- Assist in the planning and setup of programs and events, ensuring adequate volunteer coverage.
- Provide support during events to ensure a positive volunteer and participant experience.
- Volunteer Leadership:
- Lead and supervise volunteers during programs and events, ensuring they are well-informed and engaged.
- Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with volunteers to address questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer information and other designated tools.
- Generate reports to assess volunteer engagement, hours contributed, and areas for improvement.
- Training and Development:
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to provide training sessions for new and existing volunteers.
- Work towards the continuous improvement of volunteer engagement and satisfaction.
